Cozy Afternoons

Living for these moments.

Self-Care is Productive

Do lazy days make you feel rested or unproductive?

A lazy day for me is a full day of doing nothing but sleep, eat, watch Netflix or Youtube, listen to podcasts, and play videogames. I do admit that I still feel a slight pang of guilt if I’m not able to tick off any bullet from my to-do list. And I need to fight that emotion because I know I deserve a mini-vacation after a long week of grueling work.

If you’re like me and you give 110% at work, then we can probably agree that work quality suffers when you’re exhausted. In fact, research indicates that the maximum time most people can concentrate on work is five hours. And full-time employees typically do three hours more than that.

We’re not robots. And even robots need their batteries recharged once in a while. We owe it to ourselves to get that much-deserved rest. We ought to listen to our bodies, and we need to take care of it because no one else will.
